Strong rise in stock market; Sensex jumps 600 points to cross 78600, Nifty also rises
New Delhi| After last week’s fall, the domestic stock market opened with a big gain on Monday. Sensex jumped 628.34 points to 78,669.93 in early trade on the first trading day of the week, while Nifty rose 219 points to 23,806.50. During this period, a rise was also seen in the shares of Adani Group.
Indian stock markets opened in the green after a positive trend from Wall Street and Asian markets. The pre opening session saw a rise in the 50-share BSE Sensex and the 30-share NSE Nifty. Sensex opened at 78,488.64 with a gain of 447.05 points or 0.57 per cent and Nifty opened at 23,738.20 with a gain of 150.70 points or 0.64 per cent. Currently at 9:40 am Sensex is trading at 78,493.44 with a jump of 451.85 (0.58%) and Nifty at 23,772.95 with a rise of 185.45 points (0.79%).
