‘Pooja Khedkar not to be arrested before 21st August’, orders Delhi High Court
New Delhi| Delhi High Court has given big relief to Pooja Khedkar. Delhi High Court has ordered Delhi Police not to arrest Pooja Khedkar till 21 August. Delhi Police has registered a case against Pooja for allegedly passing the Civil Services Examination by cheating. The court has also issued notice to Delhi Police and UPSC asking them to file their reply. The court also asked Delhi Police why its custody was required to find out the conspiracy?
During the hearing, Justice Prasad told lawyer Naresh Kaushik, appearing for UPSC, that at present it does not seem that she needs to be taken into immediate custody. The Court stated that in view of the facts of the present case, the Court is of the opinion that Pooja Khedkar need not be arrested by the next date of hearing (21 August).
