Lucknow Metro’s Robust Security And Surveillance System catches thief in just 30 minutes

Lucknow| Lucknow Metro’s vigilant security and surveillance system at station premises and Metro trains successfully nabbed a thief in just 30 minutes. On September 19, a passenger took the metro to board his train from the Lucknow Railway station. As the passenger de-boarded the metro train at platform No. 1 of Charbagh Metro Station, a man snatched away his belongings containing 1 mobile phone and Rs. 1050 cash. The passenger without wasting any time informed the Charbagh station controller about the incident. Taking prompt action, the station controller with the help of CCTV cameras identified, the thief and informed the police control room.
The suspect de-boarded the metro train at Amausi Metro Station where metro security personnel and police staff caught him in no time. All the belongings of the metro passenger were recovered from the accused and handed over safely to the passenger. The passenger praised metro staff and their vigilant approach to assist passengers and expressed his gratitude to the UPMRC team
Shri Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation said, “Every corner of our metro premises is under CCTV surveillance and extremely safe for all the commuters. All the Metro stations are equipped with 50 to 60 CCTV cameras in addition to 24 cameras in each Metro train. Lucknow Metro and station premises are also kept under close monitoring through the Operation Control Room, Control Room and Security Room. All the passengers and their belongings are completely safe in the Metro”.
