Yogi government moved forward for all-round development of Scheduled Tribes

Lucknow| UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is committed to the social, economic and educational upliftment of the Scheduled Tribes of the state. This is the reason why the Yogi government is providing various welfare schemes to connect the tribes with the mainstream of development and for their all-round development.

Yogi government is continuously moving forward step by step with the Central Government to provide them basic facilities like housing, health, education, electricity and water etc. Through the schemes, the Yogi government has drawn a blueprint for creation of equal opportunities for the tribal population, development of socio-economic level, improvement of infrastructure and concrete progress in the fields of health, education and livelihood.

State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Welfare, Aseem Arun said that under the ‘Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan’ run for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes, the Yogi government is working to improve the standard of living of all tribal families. Providing opportunities for skill development, entrepreneurship promotion and self-employment. For this, villages with population of 500 or more in the state having at least 50 percent population of Scheduled Tribes will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.

He informed that a total of 26 districts of the state, Ambedkar Nagar, Bahraich, Ballia, Balrampur, Barabanki, Basti, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Chandauli, Deoria, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Lakhimpur-Kheeri, Kushinagar, Lalitpur, Maharajganj, Mahoba, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Prayagraj, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shravasti, Siddharth Nagar, Sitapur and Sonbhadra and 47 blocks and 517 villages have been identified for the benefits of various schemes under this campaign.

Yogi government will expand basic services like roads, water, electricity in the identified villages. All tribal families will be provided permanent houses. More and more Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) will be established in their villages to ensure better access to health services. Similarly, efforts will be made to start more and more Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Centers (TMMC) in the tribal areas, so that the tribal families can get their own art, culture, painting, forest produce collection, honey, Kodo-Kutki, Jowar-Bajra, products prepared from Mahua. There can be better marketing of natural treatment knowledge skills from herbs and the income of the tribes can be increased in their own villages. Due to this the tribes will not even migrate.

The Social Welfare Minister informed that for the implementation of ‘Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan’, 17 other departments along with Tribal Development Department, including Ministry of Rural Development, Water Supply, Electricity, Energy, Health & Family Welfare, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Women & Child Development, Education, AYUSH, Telecommunication, Vocational & Skill Education Department, Electronics & Information Technology, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Fisheries Department, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Department, Panchayati Raj Department and Tourism Department are working together.

He said that under this scheme, a multipurpose marketing center will be established by the Tribal Development Department. Facilities for compilation, processing, marketing of tribal products will be provided at these centres. Apart from this, under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided for upgradation of ashram system schools/hostels run for Scheduled Tribes and other government residential schools run for Scheduled Tribes and other basic facilities.

‘Dharti Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan’ is part of the overall development efforts of the Central Government, in which it is planned to connect the tribal communities with the social and economic mainstream on priority basis. Through this, a plan of concrete action has been prepared for the overall development of the tribal population in the next five years. With the successful implementation of this campaign, the tribal population of the state will directly benefit from basic services. This will improve education, health, employment and infrastructure in these areas, which will contribute significantly to overall national development.
