Yogi government engaged in strengthening the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles

Lucknow| Yogi government is continuously taking several steps to promote environment friendly and clean transport in the state. With the aim of encouraging the use of electric vehicles (EVs) and improving the charging infrastructure, the Yogi government has set up Uttar Pradesh Renewable and EV Infrastructure Limited (UPREV). Under this, Yogi government is going to lay a network of EV charging stations in the state. This initiative is playing an important role in taking the state towards a green and energy-efficient future.

Yogi government has made a comprehensive plan for the development of charging stations for electric vehicles. Under UPREV, charging stations will be set up in major cities of the state, national-state highways and urban areas. For this, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model will be used, which will help in attracting private investment and accelerate the development of infrastructure.

The government, along with other government departments, has allowed state land to be used for charging stations on a right-to-use basis. With this initiative, EV charging points are being set up at Discom offices, sub stations and other public places in the state.

Yogi government has also revised the electricity rates for charging electric vehicles. According to the new order of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC), now the tariff for electric vehicles at public charging stations has been kept lower than the average cost. This will provide charging facilities to electric vehicle owners at affordable rates, which will accelerate the adoption of EVs.

The government aims to set better rates for EV charging stations, so that green energy can be used more in the transport sector. The move is likely to increase the number of EV users in the state.

With the development of EV infrastructure, the Yogi government aims not only to protect the environment but also to create new employment opportunities. Technical experts, engineers and local people are being deployed to set up charging stations. This will also boost employment and economic development of the youth of the state.

In addition, the Yogi government through UPERV is planning to avail a subsidy of Rs 2,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri e-Drive scheme in conjunction with the central government, thereby establishing more charging stations.

This initiative of Yogi government will not only be helpful in improving the environment of the state, but is also an important step towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as an EV hub. By encouraging the use of electric vehicles, the state will not only reduce carbon emissions but also increase self-reliance in the field of transportation.

It is clear from such schemes that under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is playing a leading role in the field of development and environmental protection. In the coming years, this initiative will prove to be a milestone in making the state cleaner, greener and more advanced.
