CM Yogi’s Green and Clean Mahakumbh resolution being realized

Prayagraj| Yogi government is working with full commitment to make Mahakumbh 2025 clean and green. In this sequence, a target has been set to make fair completely plastic free. As per the aspiration of CM Yogi, work is being done in mission mode to make the entire Prayagraj plastic free during Mahakumbh. Along with completely banning single-used plastic in Mahakumbh, the use of natural products Dona, Pattal, Kulhar and jute and cloth bags is being promoted. For this, jute and cloth bags, stalls of Dona, Pattal and Kulhar will be opened in the fair area itself. Tender has also been issued for this.

Prayagraj Fair Authority plans to set up stalls to use natural products as an alternative to plastic items during the Mahakumbh. For this, a tender has been issued to set up stalls of dona, pattal, kulhar and cloth or jute bags in Mahakumbh. Natural products will be supplied from these stalls to the entire fair area. Besides, instructions have also been issued to shopkeepers to use only natural products during the fair. There will be a complete ban on the use of any kind of single use plastic products during Mahakumbh.

To accelerate the Plastic Free Mahakumbh campaign, Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant has divided the city into different zones and directed to appoint a nodal officer for each zone, who will work under the action plan to make their zones clean and plastic free. Will work. The progress of their work will be reviewed weekly.

He has also issued instructions to all polythene bag wholesalers in the city to stop the supply of polythene in the city. Apart from this, an awareness campaign is also being run to make Prayagraj plastic free. Posters and hoardings of Swachh Mahakumbh, no plastic use and no use of polythene will be put up in the entire city under Swachh Prayagraj. Street plays will also be staged at various places in the city. The Divisional Commissioner has also encouraged the city residents to take a pledge of “to no plastic“ on the Sangam beach along with the District Magistrate.
