Uproar in Lok Sabha over Rahul Gandhi’s statement on ‘Hindu’, PM Modi-Amit Shah replied

New Delhi| As Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, a statement given by Rahul Gandhi on Hindus created an uproar. Rahul said that those who call themselves Hindus do violence. There was a huge uproar in the House regarding this statement. PM Modi himself interrupted Rahul during his speech and said that it is not right to connect the entire Hindu community with violence. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also hit back fiercely at Rahul Gandhi. Shah said that Rahul Gandhi should apologize for this statement.
Taking aim at BJP, Rahul said that those who call themselves Hindus donot believe in untruth and violence. You are not a Hindu at all. It is clearly written in Hindu religion that one should stand with the truth. One should not step back from the truth. Non-violence should be promoted.
During this time, PM Modi got up midway and said that this is very serious. Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a serious matter. To this Rahul replied that I called BJP violent, Narendra Modi is not the entire Hindu society. BJP is not a complete Hindu society. RSS is not a complete Hindu society.” This Constitution has taught me that I should take the leader of the opposition seriously”, PM Modi said later in the House on Rahul’s statements.”
Countering Rahul Gandhi’s statement, Amit Shah said, “Such a big act cannot be hidden by making noise। The opposition leader said that those who call themselves Hindus commit violence and talk about violence। They probably don’t know that crores of people proudly call themselves Hindus। Do all those people commit violence। Linking the spirit of violence with any religion and the person holding a constitutional post in this House। I think they should apologize for that।”
Shah further said, “I also want to make a request to him that he should once take the opinion of the scholars of Islam on Abhayamudra in Islam. He should take the opinion of SGPC on Guru Nanak Saheb’s Abhayamudra. They have no right to talk about Abhay. They have frightened the entire country during the Emergency. Lakhs of people were put in jail. Ideological terror was once your emergency,” he added.
