Lucknow| Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has taken a big decision regarding the PCS (Preliminary) Examination of 2024. Now this examination will be conducted on the same day, i.e. 22 December 2024. The Commission had proposed to conduct this examination in the first two days, but this decision has been changed after protests by students and protests in Prayagraj.

The press release issued by the commission reported that earlier the PCS preliminary exam was scheduled to be held on 7 and 8 December 2024, but now it will be conducted in two sessions on the same day on 22 December. The first session will take place from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the second session will take place from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

According to sources, the Commission has also constituted a committee regarding the process of RO (Revenue Officer) and ARO (Assistant Revenue Officer) examination. This committee will work to organize the entire process of the examination, so that there is transparency in the examination and better experience to the students.

The Commission has taken this decision after the protest by students in Prayagraj. The students said that by dividing the examination into two days, they were facing extreme stress and difficulty. Moreover, the time between the two sessions in a day seemed quite long to the students. In view of this protest, UPPSC, understanding the problems of the students, decided to conduct the examination in one day.
