Lucknow| After the Tirupati Temple Laddu controversy, Mahant Divyagiri of Mankameshwar Temple has banned the market brought offering to the temple. Mahant Divyagiri issued a letter asking the devotees to offer dry fruits to the sanctum sanctorum.
The notice said, “Special information, offer only the prasad/dried dry fruits made at home in the sanctum sanctorum. Prasad brought from the market is being banned due to the incident in Tirupati Balaji Andhra.”
After the controversy over the laddu of Tirupati temple, the Karnataka government had also issued a circular last Friday. It directed all the temples under the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department to maintain the quality of the prasad prepared there. Temples have been asked to use only Nandini brand ghee of ‘Karnataka Milk Federation’.
TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) has organized a Maha Shanthihom in the wake of the Laddu Prasadam controversy. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer Shamala Rao and other board officials have attended the home along with the priests.
