‘Target of $20 billion exports from India by 2025’- Amazon’s prediction

New Delhi| Amazon, the world’s leading e-commerce company, has set a target of $13 billion in exports from India by the end of this year. Its Amazon Global Selling program was launched in 2015. So far, 1.5 million exporters have been associated with it. All of them sell more than 40 crore Made in India products all over the world through Amazon.
Amazon said on Thursday that the countries to which maximum exports are taking place include America, Britain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Australia and Singapore, among others. The states from where Amazon has the highest number of exporters are Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka.
The biggest increase in exports on annual basis are beauty, apparel, health and personal care and toys. Bhupen Wakankar, Global Trade Director, Amazon India, said, our program has changed the lives of small and medium businessmen of the country. They are selling Made in India products all over the world. The company has set a target of e-commerce exports of $20 billion from India by 2025.
Amazon said, small towns of Uttar Pradesh are emerging as exporters. These include cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Agra. More than 14,000 small businessmen have benefited from Amazon’s program here. 8,000 businessmen have become exporters in Gurugram, Faridabad, Panipat, Yamuna Nagar, Ambala and Kurukshetra in Haryana. 6,000 exporters have benefited in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand.
