Surveillance in Mahakumbh to be done with 1650 CCTV cameras, 24 APNR cameras, 40 VMDS and AI
Prayagraj| Mahakumbh, the world’s largest humanitarian gathering, is estimated to bring 45 crore devotees in 2025. Uttar Pradesh Government and Prayagraj Fair Authority are making preparations accordingly under the guidance and direction of CM Yogi. An example of this is the upgrading of the ICC Center for the successful organization and conduct of the Mahakumbh Mela. The ICC Centre was constructed in Kumbh 2019 but is being upgraded as Mahakumbh 2025 is even more grand and huge. Chief Minister Adityanath inspected this during his visit to Prayagraj and also gave instructions to complete the upgradation work soon.
Integrated Command and Control Centre, ICCC was constructed for the successful event of Kumbh 2019. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prayagraj Fair Authority and Prayagraj Smart City conduct the fair through ICC Center with the help of state-of-the-art technology like AI, chatbot, live surveillance, CCTV cameras. The event of Mahakumbh 2025 is being upgraded as the ICC Centre is being grand and huge with all previous Kumbh, Mahakumbh fairs being organised. According to CM Yogi’s vision of heritage and development, efforts are being made to make the oldest tradition of Mahakumbh easy and safe with the use of state-of-the-art technology.
Monitoring will be done with the help of AI component: Prayagraj Smart City and Fair Authority is carrying out the upgradation work of ICC Center with the help of top engineering institutes of the country. Around 1650 new CCTV cameras, 24 APNR cameras, 40 VMCDs, 100 smart parking, 268 and 240 AI componets for crowd management and vehicle count are being installed in the wake of Mahakumbh 2025. Along with this, 20 seats are being increased in the call center for grievance redressal. In Mahakumbh 2025, the entire fair area will be inspected from ICC Centre Mela, MCR Centre, Arail and Jhunsi Viewing Centre. Also, crowd management and monitoring work will be done at 9 railway stations with the help of AI controlled CCTV cameras.
