PWD team busy in completing the target set for Mahakumbh on time

Prayagraj| Work is being done on war footing to complete the preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 before the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Prayagraj on 13 December. PWD has also increased its pace and along with pontoon bridges, renovation work of roads is also gaining momentum.

So far, 27 roads have been renewed by the Public Works Department (PWD). Whereas, a target has been set to complete the renewal work of the rest of Rhodes by 10 December. Similarly, the beautification work of 17 Rhodes is also likely to be completed by 5 December. It is noteworthy that PWD has a total of 89 projects, out of which about 60 projects have been completed, while the remaining is targeted to be completed by 10th December.

PWD Chief Engineer AK. Dwivedi said that PWD was given a target to renew a total of 92 roads, out of which 27 roads have been renewed so far by the department. Renewal of the remaining roads will also be completed by December 10, before the arrival of PM Modi. All work is going on as per the set targets and supply of all types of raw materials has been completed at the sites.

He reported 488 km in the fair area. The supply for laying checkered plates has been completed. There is some problem due to sand, but this will also be completed on time. No work is lagging behind the set target, rather there is complete preparation to finalize the work before the target.

He informed that PWD was given the responsibility of beautification of 17 Roads, which was targeted to be completed on 10 December. However, PWD will complete the work before time i.e. by 5th December.

Apart from this, the work of Airport Road, Rasulabad Ghat Road, Phaphamau-Sahso Road is also nearing completion, while 15 junctions are also being completed. PWD has 6 projects of fair area, which will be completed by 10th December.

At the same time, there are 83 projects from outside the fair area, most of which have been completed. He said that we are reviewing how many of these projects are to be inaugurated by PM Modi. Its decision will be taken soon.
