Rahul Gandhi in America: ‘No one in India is afraid of BJP or the Prime Minister’

Lucknow| Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who is on US tour, while addressing an event in Texas, said that love, respect and humility are missing in Indian politics. Rahul Gandhi said that RSS believes that India is an idea and we believe that India is a plurality of ideas. We believe that everyone should be allowed to join, allowed to dream and given a place regardless of their race, language, religion, tradition or history.

He further said, “This is the fight”. The fight in the elections came to a head when millions of people in India clearly understood that the Prime Minister of India was attacking the Constitution of India, because what I am saying to you is a union of states, respect for languages, respect for religions, respect for traditions, respect for caste Rahul said that all this is in the Constitution.

Rahul Gandhi also raised the issue of unemployment. He said that India, America and other countries of the West are facing the problem of unemployment, whereas this is not the case in China, because it is dominating global production. While interacting with students at the University of Texas at Dallas on Sunday, Rahul said that there is no dearth of skills in India, if the country starts preparing itself for production, it can compete with China.

Talking about the issue of unemployment, Rahul said that America was the center of global production in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Whatever was made was made here. Be it car, washing machine or TV, everything was made in America, but now production has gone from America. The things which were produced in America have now shifted to Korea, Japan and China. He said that China has left everyone behind in global production.

Rahul Gandhi said that West, America, Europe and India had the idea of production, but they have handed it over to China. Production work creates employment. What do we do, what does America do, what does West do? Rahul said that India will have to think about the production work and how it is organized. However, India just says on these issues, okay. This is not going to work.

He said that the Chinese are going to be protected on manufacturing and production. Vietnamese are going to be protected. Bangladeshis are going to be protected. He said that we have to reimagine how to produce in a democratic environment. Unless we do that, we will be faced with a high level of unemployment, which is not a good thing. We have stopped thinking about manufacturing. We have started forgetting it. Because of this, social problems will be seen on a large scale in India, America and Europe. Rahul Gandhi said that polarization of our politics is because of this. He said that there is no dearth of skills in India.
