Q3 Results: TCS net profit rises 11.95 per cent to Rs 12,380 crore in third quarter, employees decline
New Delhi| TCS, the country’s largest IT services exporter, released its third quarter financial results. The company reported that its net profit increased by 11.95 percent to Rs 12,380 crore in the December quarter. The Tata group company had achieved a net profit of Rs 11,058 crore in the same quarter a year ago and Rs 11,909 crore a quarter ago.
Its total income during the quarter under review increased by 6.13 per cent to Rs 65,216 crore from Rs 61,445 crore in the same quarter a year ago and was higher than Rs 64,988 crore in the previous September quarter.
Total expenditure increased by 6.33 per cent to Rs 48,550 crore, up from Rs 45,658 crore in the same period a year ago. Shares of TCS closed at Rs 4,036.65, down 1.72 per cent on BSE on Thursday. Meanwhile, the company said in a statement that its employee count dropped by more than 5,000 at the end of the quarter, and it has now dropped to 6,07,354.
