‘One Nation, One Election’ approved, proposal passed in Modi cabinet
New Delhi|The cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of One Nation One Election in India. In the meeting on Wednesday, Modi Cabinet has approved the proposal to hold simultaneous elections in the country.
The committee headed by former President Ramnath Kovind had approached 62 parties on the issue of ‘one nation, one election’ and out of 47 political parties that responded to it, 32 supported the idea of holding simultaneous elections, while 15 parties opposed it. According to the report, a total of 15 parties had not responded.
