The state’s first semiconductor park to be developed near Noida International Airport in UP

Noida| The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is going to establish the state’s first semi-conductor park near the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar, Greater Noida. There is a plan from the state government to establish semiconductor park in Sector-10 and Sector-28 under Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA). Through this initiative, big chip manufacturing companies of the country and the world will be attracted to set up their enterprises in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, employment will also be created for the youth of UP on a large scale.

To encourage investors to set up semiconductor industry in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi government has implemented semiconductor policy, through which relief is being provided on a large scale. According to the government, the silent features of semiconductor parks, under this, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has identified land for two semiconductor clusters. The first sector-10 comprises 200 acres and the second sector-28 comprises 125 acres. Yida will set up a 8 MLD water treatment plant in both these clusters. Whereas, a sewage treatment plant (STP) of 60 MLD will be installed.

400, 200, 132 kV substations are also planned to be installed to ensure electrical supply to the clusters. Apart from this, entrepreneurs investing in semiconductor parks will get the facility of multimodal connectivity. The distance of these clusters to be established in Sector-10 and 28 from Noida International Airport is only 4 km, which will enable Corgo to reach in minutes and investors and foreign buyers will not have any problem in commuting.

Apart from this, the facility of Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) will also start here soon. For this, the process of approval of DPR from the state government has been completed. At the same time, there is a plan for high speed rail between Delhi and Varanasi, one of whose stations will also be Noida Airport. Apart from this, interchange of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has also been built in Yamuna Expressway, which will make connectivity with these big cities easier.

There is immense potential for semiconductor manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government has laid emphasis on creating semiconductor ecosystem to encourage investors to invest in this sector. For this, semiconductor policy has been implemented for the first time in the state. Under the UP Semicondster Policy, provision has been made for an additional capital subsidy of 50 per cent on the capital subsidy approved by the Government of India.

Apart from this, land rebate of 75 percent has also been provided in the policy for compound semiconduster, silicon photonics, sensor, ATMP, OSAT. 100% relaxation in electricity duty is being provided for 10 years with dual grid navvork. In addition, arrangements have also been made to grant 50 per cent rebate on interstate power purchase, transmission and wheeling charges, 100 per cent rebate on stamp duty and registration fees and 5 per cent interest subsidy per annum (maximum Rs 7 crore) for 25 years
