NASSCOM launches playbook to identify and mitigate AI risks in India
New Delhi| NASSCOM introduced the Developers Playbook for Responsible Artificial Intelligence in India. This playbook will help developers identify and mitigate risks to AI development, installation and use in the country.
Launched at the inaugural edition of Confluence for Responsible Intelligence (RICON) in New Delhi, the playbook comes amid the challenges developers face in navigating the rapidly evolving AI Risk Management Landscap.
The playbook is important for establishing an industry framework to identify and mitigate the risks associated with AI in collaboration with the Government of India and NASSCOM. The IT Industry Body said a group of Indian and international subject matter experts and stakeholders from industry, government, academia and civil society have conducted “rigorous review and validation” of the playbook.
This reflects a balanced and well-supported approach to responsible AI, which is strongly aligned with the country’s interests and social welfare. “This playbook provides innovators with the guidance they need to identify potential risks, align with best practice, and adopt AI methodologies that are responsible for AI development and installation”, said Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Singh, CEO of India AI Mission, said that “Playbook strives to harmonize public and private sector risk management frameworks”. The playbook will help developers implement the principles of AI with a practical framework. “This builds on the ongoing efforts of NASSCOM Responsible AI Hub to advance responsible AI practice among industry stakeholders” said Ankit Bose, Head of AI, NASSCOM.
