Jio-Airtel-Vi users to face problem in online payment from 1st September
New Delhi| From September 1, mobile users may face some problems during online payments and online shopping. Actually TRAI is going to implement a new rule in the country from September 1 so that users can get late OTP during shopping and online payment.
Let us tell you that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has been trying for the last several days to stop fake calls and fake messages to stop online fraud. Now TRAI is going to take a big step in this direction. TRAI is going to implement a new rule from September 1 across the country in which filtration for fake calls and messages will be implemented. Online payments and OTP during online shopping may be delayed after filters are implemented in messages and calls. Let us tell you that due to filtration, Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea users may face problems. In this regard, TRAI has also given guidelines to all the telecom companies of the country.
TRAI guidelines state that from 1 September 2024, block messages containing URLs, OTT links, APKs (Android Application Packages), or call-back numbers, which are not registered with telecom companies. This means that financial institutions, banks and all online platforms must register their messages, OTP templates, and content with Jio, Airtel and Vi before August 31. If platforms do not do this then the message will be closed. Let us tell you that this new rule of TRAI can have a direct impact on crores of mobile users. There may be problems due to not receiving OTP during online payment. In today’s time, verification is done through OTT in almost all the work related to online and due to delay in OTP, it can cause big problems.
