India’s hiring outlook strongest in the world, up 7 percent in October-December quarter

New Delhi| India’s hiring outlook is the strongest in the world in the October-December quarter of 2024. It has seen an increase of 7 percent against the July-September quarter. This information was given in a report on Tuesday. ManpowerGroup’s ‘Employment Outlook Survey’ said, “In view of the festive season, emphasis is being laid on hiring by all employers”. The outlook for the financial and real estate industry is strongest, at 47 percent. Next is IT (46 percent), Industrial and Material (36 percent), Consumer Goods and Services (35 percent).

The report pointed out that North India consistently topped the growth outlook at 41 per cent. The West is second with 39 percent. Sandeep Gulati, Managing Director, ManpowerGroup India and Middle East, said that the boom in hiring shows that the condition of the country’s economy is strong. Exports have increased on a large scale due to infrastructure development and multilateral approach in foreign policies. “Demographic dividends are expected to provide a competitive advantage in India in global markets”, Gulati said.

“To meet market demand, the government has increased focus on skill development”, the report said. For this reason, India will be able to reduce the unemployment rate rapidly along with economic prosperity. This will also create a strong workforce to meet the needs of the emerging industry. Only the outlook for the healthcare and life science industry is -6 percent compared to the previous quarter. The outlook of all other sectors remains positive. The report further said that the gap of talent shortage between demand and supply is continuously increasing.
