GRAP 3 rules in force in NCR, BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel vehicles to stop speeding

Noida| In view of the ever increasing pollution in NCR, Stage 3 of Graded Action Response Plan (GRAP) has been implemented. According to this, there will now be a complete ban on BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel vehicles as well as on builder projects, on road construction and on other construction projects. Along with this, the speed of about 5.5 lakh vehicles will also stop in the entire NCR.

As soon as the rules of GRAP 3 come into force, construction work is stopped only in essential places except airports, hospitals, elevated roads and STP plant projects. Along with this, in Delhi, after AQI reached 400 there, schools from primary to class 5 have been closed and they have been instructed to run on online mode.

Orders have not yet been issued to close schools in Noida and Ghaziabad. Outdoor activities have been stopped here as a precautionary measure. At present, the situation in Noida and Ghaziabad has not gone out of control like Delhi. Talking about AQI, AQI has definitely crossed 300 in many areas here. But there are many areas where people are still seen breathing a sigh of relief.

According to scientists of the Meteorological Department, the situation is expected to worsen in the coming days. The reason for the increase in smog and pollution is said to be the sudden drop in temperature in the plains after snowfall in the mountains. At the same time, the wind speed has also slowed down considerably and the humidity has also increased. Because of this, the blanket of smog is being seen in the entire NCR.
