Government engaged in saving people from cold wave, allocated 20 crores to districts
Lucknow| In view of the cold, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has released the first installment to various districts for blankets and bonfires to protect the people of the state from the cold wave. Allocating around Rs 20 crore, the Yogi government has given instructions to provide relief to the destitute, helpless and weaker sections.
He said that the quality of blankets distributed to the needy should be of high quality. Besides, instructions have been given to all District Magistrates and Divisional Commissioners to provide temporary accommodation, food, clothing and medical facilities to destitute persons, refugees and affected people. The Relief Department has allocated funds to all the District Magistrates. Tender has been issued by the District Magistrates for blankets and bonfires.
Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath always stands with every weaker section of the state. Many welfare schemes are also being run by the Yogi government. The government is committed to saving the weaker, helpless sections of people from disaster. With the onset of cold, Rs 17.55 crore has been allocated as the first installment for blankets to 351 Tehsil to deal with cold wave on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. One crore 75 lakh 50 thousand rupees were allocated for the bonfire.
The department has allocated Rs 19 crore 30 lakh 50 thousand as the first installment. In this, the maximum amount of Rs 38 lakh 50 thousand has been allocated for Ghazipur, Bulandshahr, Gorakhpur, Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri. Necessary instructions have been given to all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to deal with the cold.
To deal with the cold wave, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed District Magistrates, Chief Development Officers, Additional District Magistrates, Sub-District Magistrates and Tehsildars to visit their respective areas and identify the destitute, helpless and weaker sections. It has been asked to ensure that no person dies due to cold wave.
It has been asked to light bonfires as per requirement at public places in all Nagar Panchayats, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Corporations and rural areas. Apart from this, it has been asked to complete the work of showing strips through white thermoplastic paint on the main roads under the limits of every city and especially in accident prone areas, installation of reflectors, solarcat signs and delivereters on time, so that accidents do not occur due to fog.
Apart from this, by running a campaign, it has been asked to install yellow bands of radium on the backs of tractor trolleys used in agricultural work in rural and urban areas, so that accidents caused by fog can be controlled. The government has directed that night shelters and shelter homes etc. should be established in time in all Municipal Corporations, Municipal Corporations, Nagar Panchayats. The name and mobile number of the administrator must be shown on night shelters and shelter homes. Surprise inspection should also be conducted at night by senior officials of the district.
