Delhi Airport expands domestic network to 90 destinations with direct flights to Daman

Delhi International Airport has expanded its domestic network to 90 destinations with the launch of direct scheduled flights between Delhi and Daman, operated by Alliance Air.

According to an official statement, the addition of Daman takes Delhi Airport’s domestic connectivity to 90 destinations, including the seasonal winter routes to Khajuraho and Jaisalmer.

With the new service, Delhi Airport has become the only airport in the country to offer direct connectivity to 32 of India’s 36 states and Union Territories, covering 27 states and five Union Territories. The route is expected to strengthen air connectivity to the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, in line with the Centre’s efforts to improve regional air connectivity.

The direct service is expected to improve access for residents, businesses and tourists while integrating Daman more closely into the national aviation network. The airport said the new route would also boost tourism by providing easier access to Daman’s beaches, Portuguese-era heritage and hospitality sector, besides supporting business travel to the region’s manufacturing industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, plastics, textiles and engineering.

Delhi Airport said the new service would enable passengers from across India and international destinations to access Daman through seamless onward connections via the national capital.

According to the statement, the airport has the widest domestic network in India, connecting to 90 destinations across the country. It operates more than 1,050 domestic flights each day and serves over five million domestic passengers every month, including nearly one million travellers making domestic flight connections.

Scheduled domestic services from Delhi Airport are operated by Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet and Alliance Air, providing connectivity to destinations across the country.
