Lucknow| Yogi government has made tremendous preparations to protect the devotees and control the crowd in Mahakumbh-2025. In this, battalions of various police personnel have been given responsibility, which also includes mounted police. During the Mahakumbh Mela, mounted police personnel will be deployed in the fair area all the time and will continue patrolling.

More than 40 crore devotees and tourists are likely to visit Prayagraj during the Mahakumbh. From 13 January to 26 February, a large number of devotees will arrive to take a dip in the Sangam. Especially on major bathing dates, crores of devotees will stay at the ghats of Ganga, Yamuna and Sangam at one time. The police have also made vigorous preparations and made a comprehensive action plan to deal with any situation.

According to a senior police officer associated with fair security, mounted police personnel have been trained in various police lines of the state. This time, 180 mounted policemen will be deployed in Mahakumbh for crowd control. According to the officer, these mounted personnel prove to be more effective than the policemen guarding on foot.

Especially a policeman sitting on a horse is able to keep an eye for a longer distance due to being at a higher height. As soon as he sees any suspicious situation, he can send messages not only to himself but also to other policemen to reach the designated place to bring the situation under control.

The police officer said that the mounted police personnel also have a psychological impact on the crowd. They are able to control more crowd only by applying less force. The horse to be deployed in Mahakumbh has also been named. These have been given names like Maharaja, Chetan, Bahubali. All trained mounted soldiers will be taken on a tour of the entire area before the start of the fair, so that they can get detailed information about the area.
