Ban on other duties of revenue personnel during harvesting in UP, instructions issued to District Magistrates
Lucknow| In view of the harvesting season of Kharif crops, the Yogi government gave clear instructions to all the District Magistrates that revenue personnel will not be deployed for any other duty during the harvesting period. However, in special circumstances they will be allowed to be appointed to other functions, for which it will be mandatory to seek prior approval from the government.
In this regard, CM Yogi has also given instructions to the Sub-District Magistrate and Tehsildars to review the crop harvesting experiments. Officials from the Department of Agriculture, Revenue and Development in all districts will be required to designate 15 per cent for mandatory inspections.
Apart from this, instructions have also been given by the representatives of impaneled insurance companies under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to conduct observation of 30 percent crop cutting experiments. After harvesting, harvesting experiments will be tested on the portal, only after which the yield weight will be approved.
In a recent submission made in the presence of Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, it was informed that 100 per cent crop cutting is compulsorily implemented as per the instructions of the Government of India from Kharif 2022 through CCE Agri App. Crops included in crop insurance are paddy, maize, millet, jowar, urad, moong, sesame, groundnut, soybean and pigeon pea (total 10 crops) under Kharif season and wheat, barley, gram, peas, lentils, lahi-mustard, linseed and potatoes (total 8 crops) under Rabi season.
