Ingredients for making semolina upma
Semolina-one cup, oil-2 tsp, onion-1, tomato-1, capsicum-1, carrot-1, beans-two to three, salt to taste, coriander leaf
1 tsp chana dal, 1 tsp rye, 2 green chillies, 4-5 curry leaves
Method of making semolina upma
Step 1: To make Upma, first turn on the gas and place a pan on it and add 1 teaspoon oil. Now add 1 cup semolina and fry it until it turns light golden brown. When the semolina is roasted, take it out in another plate and keep it aside.
Step 2: Now again add one tablespoon butter or oil in that pan. Now temper it with 1 tsp chana dal, 1 tsp rye and 4-5 curry leaves. After that add two green chilies and curry leaves in it. Now finely chop the onion and fry until it turns brown. When semolina turns golden brown, mix beans, carrots, tomatoes together. Now fry the vegetables well until cooked. Now add salt as per taste. Now cover them and cook for a few minutes.
Step 3: When the vegetables are cooked well, add roasted semolina and mix. After some time add hot water and let it cook again. Finally garnish the upma with finely chopped coriander. Taste-rich South Indian dish Upma is ready to serve.
