10 lakh beneficiaries to get their own house under Pm Awas Yojana (Gramin)
New Delhi| Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), around 10 lakh beneficiaries from Jharkhand, Gujarat, Odisha and other states will also get the first installment for houses along with the acceptance letter next week. Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan shared this information.
The Union Minister informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute acceptance letters and transfer the first installment of PMAY-G at the national level event held in Odisha on 17 September.
The Prime Minister will transfer the first installment of Rs 3,180 crore directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through digital medium and the dream of 26 lakh beneficiaries of their new home will be fulfilled.
The Prime Minister will also launch the app “Awas + 2024” during the event. The objective of this app is to ensure allotment of pucca houses by including eligible beneficiaries in the list. According to the Ministry of Rural Development, Odisha has been given a target of 22,572 households in the current financial year, for which an amount of Rs 41.32 crore has been released.
At an event on September 15 in Jharkhand, the Prime Minister will provide acceptance letters to about 20 thousand beneficiaries of the state and transfer funds of more than five crore rupees directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries. In addition, a house entrance ceremony of newly constructed houses of 46 thousand beneficiaries will also be held.
The ministry informed that Jharkhand has been given a target of constructing 1,13,195 houses, for which an amount of Rs 187.79 crore has been released in the current financial year. Over 6.50 lakh houses have been built in Gujarat in the last decade, while the state has been targeted to build 54,135 houses in the current financial year. The Ministry informed that an amount of Rs 99.1 crore has also been released for this.
The Prime Minister will transfer an amount of about Rs 93 crore to the accounts of 31 thousand beneficiaries of Gujarat on 16 September. There will also be a house entrance ceremony of about 35 thousand ready-made houses.
PMAY-G launched in the year 2016 is one of the major programs of the government, which aims to achieve the goal of “Housing for All” by 2024. The objective is to provide 2.95 crore pucca houses with basic amenities to all homeless families in rural areas and families living in kutcha and dilapidated houses.
