Training Panchayati Raj professionals- a mandatory initiative!

Lucknow|Secretary, Panchayati Raj, B. Chandrakala inaugurated the one day training on Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and Project Estimation and MB for Engineers and Sub Engineers of District Panchayats of 10 divisions in the auditorium of Panchayati Raj Training Institute (PRIT) by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, Secretary Panchayati Raj welcomed the participants and appreciated this type of training being organized for the first time by PRIT. She told the participants that skills are enhanced only by the process of continuous learning.
Chandrakala said that future problems can be avoided by deciding which works should be done by District Panchayats from the tied grant and by doing the file work properly. She also suggested to have a quiz in training.
Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission Rural suggested the participants present to take full advantage of this training. Joint Director, ‘PRIT’ in address provided information to the participants regarding the expenditure related to the tied grant. In this training, ODF was discussed. Training was provided by experts on the journey results and ODF Plus and on SBM Phase-2 activities, critical gap and convergence and other prescribed topics.
On this occasion, Raj Kumar, Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), S.K. Singh, Joint Director (Panchayati Raj), R.S. Chaudhary, Joint Director (Panchayati Raj), Praveena Chaudhary, Joint Director, Panchayati Raj Training Institute (PRIT), and other officials were present.
The Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 is Act 26 of 1947 passed by the United Province Legislative Assembly on June 5, 1947 and received approval from the Governor General of Dominion India on December 7, 1947 , which aims to establish and develop autonomous local government in Uttar Pradesh and to provide better spatial management and development.The law contains 119 sections in total.
To ensure the devolution of democracy and the overall development of villages, Article 40 is enshrined in the Indian constitution. The Panchayat Raj Act 1947 authorizes a village panchayat to collect any taxes or levies paid for the placement, maintenance and improvement of schools and hospitals and to account for accounts and other functions assigned to the state government.
