Tourism Department started Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program

Lucknow, 16 August 2024: Uttar Pradesh Tourism has launched the Chief Minister Tourism Fellowship Program, offering a unique opportunity for youth to engage in discussions, implement projects, and gain experience with the government. Graduates up to 40 years of age are eligible to apply, with the last date for applications being 31st August 2024.

Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh highlighted the immense tourism potential in the state, noting that the sector is generating numerous employment opportunities. The Fellowship Program is part of the effort to extend these benefits to the youth. Interested candidates can apply on the department’s website, uptourism.gov.in.

The main objective of the Fellowship Program is to provide researchers with the chance to participate in the supervision and monitoring of schemes implemented by the Tourism Department. The program will focus on the comprehensive development of ecological sites, evaluation of schemes, and preparation of frameworks for organizing fairs and festivals in accordance with future tourism needs.

Applicants must have a graduation or higher educational qualification with a minimum of 60 percent marks from recognized institutions or universities. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant work experience and degrees or diplomas in BBA, MA, MPhil, PhD, Tourism and Travel Management, MBA-Hospitality Tourism and Travel, PG Diploma-Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, Tourism, and Archaeology.

During the program, researchers will work under the supervision of the District Magistrate, Divisional Commissioner, and concerned Tourism Department officers. They will gather data on pilgrims and tourists visiting the state and take necessary steps to resolve complaints. Suggestions to increase tourist arrivals and address implementation challenges will also be presented.
