The new academic session 2024-25 of Atal Residential Schools will be launched in all 18 mandals

Lucknow| Yogi government’s ambitious scheme 6480 students studying in Atal Residential Schools will take another step forward towards their better future with their admission in the next academic session together on Thursday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the new academic session 2024-25 of Atal Residential Schools in all 18 mandals on September 12 in Lucknow. This will be the second academic session of Atal Residential Schools. Earlier, the first academic session was started on 11 September 2023. It is noteworthy that Atal Residential School is an ambitious scheme of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, under which initiatives have been taken to connect the children of registered construction workers, children orphaned in Covid 19 and orphans covered by Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana with the mainstream of society. These schools, being operated under the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (UPBOCW), have been constructed by the Yogi government, equipping them with a residential capacity of 1000 children. These schools are being operated in 18 divisions each.

A total of 6480 students are currently studying in Atal Residential Schools. To provide a better future to these students, the Yogi government has equipped these schools with very special features. In each Atal Residential School, 500 boys and 500 girls i.e. a total of 1000 students are being provided education with free residential facility. Arrangements have also been made to provide free food and nutritious food to the children in the school. All Atal Residential Schools are based on CBSE Patton and are equipped with curriculum based on the new education policy. Under this, facilities like smart class, computer lab, science lab, astronomy lab etc. are being provided. Arrangements for indoor and outdoor sports have also been made. Not only this, special attention is being given to overall development of personality, spiritual development (yoga pranayana, meditation), value based education, skill based education, vocational education, technical education, environmental sensitivity, life skills and competency based learning.

Arrangements for quality nutritious food have been made for the students in Atal Residential Schools, while the habit of eating in groups is also being developed. Similarly, as the habit of consuming food is being developed as per Indian traditions, proper arrangements for cleanliness have also been ensured. Similarly, under smart classes, arrangements have been made to provide education to the students through new technology, while satisfying their curiosity about modern technology and making information about the country and abroad immediately available has also been implemented on priority. Similarly, while care is being taken to provide computer education to the students in computer labs, the focus is also being on introducing the students to the knowledge of ICT and making computer education accessible to the students.

In Atal Residential Schools, students are also being made capable of sports, so that they can improve the future through this also. For this, sports material has been made available to the students. At the same time, overall development of personality has also been ensured through sports. Apart from this, schools have been established in the natural environment. The green campus has been developed through tree plantation. Besides, environmental awareness is being developed among the students. Not only this, a library has been constructed with the aim of creating interest in reading in addition to the curriculum among the students. These libraries are equipped with modern facilities, where books related to various subjects are available. Availability of newspapers and magazines has also been ensured.
