Stock Market: Sensex opened with a fall of 37 and Nifty 17 points
New Delhi| Indian stock markets opened in the red on Thursday. BSE’s 30-share Sensex opened at 81,822.56 points, down 37.00 points. NSE’s 50-share Nifty 50 also opened at 25,035.30 points, down 17.05 points. Thursday, shares of only 11 out of 30 Sensex companies opened in the green mark while shares of all the remaining 19 companies opened in the red mark with losses. Similarly, out of 50 Nifty 50, shares of 17 companies opened in the green mark and shares of 33 companies opened in the red mark.
Shares of UltraTech Cement opened the most in early trade, down 0.71 percent. Moreover, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra opened with a fall of 0.58 per cent, shares of HCL Tech 0.55 per cent, shares of Maruti Suzuki 0.50 per cent. On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel opened with the highest gain of 0.59 percent. Shares of Bajaj Finserv started trading with a rise of 0.24 per cent, shares of Tech Mahindra 0.22 per cent, shares of ITC 0.21 per cent. On Wednesday, Indian markets remained quite flat and BSE Sensex closed at 81,785.56 points with a gain of 73.80 points while NSE Nifty closed at 25,052.35 points with a gain of 34.60 points. On Wednesday, shares of 20 out of 30 Sensex companies closed with losses while shares of the remaining 10 companies closed in the green.
Shares of Asian Paints had closed the most on Wednesday, down 1.21 percent. Shares of both Maruti Suzuki and Nestle India had closed down 1.11 per cent. Bharti Airtel shares had closed with the highest gain of 2.21 percent. IndusInd Bank shares had closed with a rise of 2.17 per cent, Infosys shares 2.06 per cent and Sun Pharma shares 1.39 per cent.
