Rise in stock market; Sensex jumped in early trade, Nifty also jumped
New Delhi| Indian stock markets were seen recovering on Friday compared to the previous day. Indian stock markets rose after opening flat on Friday. Yesterday i.e. on Thursday, a sharp decline of more than one percent was seen. The Nifty index regained the 24000 level, while the Sensex also gained more than 300 points.
A rise was seen in early trading in the domestic stock markets on Friday. BSE Sensex rose 216.18 points to 79,259.92 in early trade. Whereas NSE Nifty stood at 23,992.75 points with a gain of 78.6 points. Earlier the Nifty 50 index opened at 23,927.15 with a gain of 13 points or 0.05 per cent, while the BSE Sensex opened at 79,032.99 with a slight fall of 10 points or 0.01 per cent. Apart from this, the rupee is down by two paise in early trade at 84.49 against the US dollar.
Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance and HDFC Bank were the most profitable among the 30 Sensex listed companies. Shares of Power Grid, ITC, Tata Consultancy Services and Maruti were in loss.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were selling on Thursday and sold shares worth a net Rs 11,756.25 crore, according to stock market data. In Asian markets, Shanghai and Hong Kong were trading in a positive range, while Seoul and Tokyo recorded declines. US markets remained closed on Thursday on the occasion of Thanksgiving. Brent crude, the global oil standard, rose 0.14 percent to $73.38 a barrel.
On Thursday, BSE’s 30-share sensory index had fallen 1,190.34 points, or 1.48 percent, to close at 79,043.74 points. Nifty had closed at 23,914.15 points, down 360.75 points or 1.49 percent.
