PM Modi to launch Subhadra scheme, railway and highway projects in Odisha

Odisha| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Tuesday launch the Odisha government’s flagship women-centric Subhadra scheme besides other railway and national highway projects. Prime Minister Modi will be on Odisha tour on his birthday. Earlier, he had attended the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on 12 June.

More than 1 crore women will be included in the Subhadra scheme. Under the Subhadra scheme, launched in the name of Goddess Subhadra, sister of Lord Balabhadra and Lord Jagannath, all eligible women aged 21-60 years will receive Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29. An amount of 10,000 Rupay per year will be deposited directly into women’s accounts in two instalments.

By launching Subhadra Yojana, Prime Minister Modi will transfer funds to the bank accounts of more than 1 million women. This scheme will not be available to women from rich families, income tax paying women and women government employees. Women who receive assistance of at least Rs 1,500 per month (or Rs 18,000 per year) from any other government program will also not be eligible. PM Modi will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of railway projects in Odisha costing Rs 2,800 crore.

Also laying the foundation stone of National Highway projects costing more than Rs 1,000 crore. He will also release the first installment of financial assistance to around 10 lakh beneficiaries from 14 states under PMAY-G.

During the event, a house warming ceremony will be organized for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY (Rural and Urban) across the country. The Prime Minister will hand over the keys of their houses to the beneficiaries of PMAY (Rural and Urban). PM Modi to launch Awas 2024 app to survey additional households for PMAY-G.
