‘India is the leading growth engine of the world’- Mukesh Ambani in RIL 47th AGM

Mumbai| The 47th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited, the country’s largest company in terms of market cap, has begun. Mukesh Ambani, the country’s richest man and chairman of the company, addressed more than 3.5 million shareholders of the company through video conferencing. This meeting was very important not only for Reliance but also for shareholders. In this meeting, not only the company’s future growth plans were expected to be announced but some big announcement was also expected regarding Jio’s IPO.

Mukesh Ambani said that today India is not just a passenger compartment in the Global Economic Train, but one of the largest growth engines in the world. He said India’s demography is unmatched among its counterparts globally and with rapid growth the debt burden is also relatively low.

Making a big announcement for the shareholders, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that a bonus share in the ratio of 1:1 can be announced on September 5, 2024. Mukesh Ambani said that the consolidated turnover of the company in FY 2024 stood at Rs 10,00,122 crore. With this, Reliance Industries has become the first company in India to cross the revenue of Rs 10 lakh crore. Reliance invested Rs 5.28 lakh crore cumulatively in the last 3 years.

Reliance Industries continues to be in the list of the country’s largest employers. Reliance gave 1.7 lakh new jobs last year. With this, the total number of employees of Reliance Industries has increased to close to 6.5 lakh. Mukesh Ambani said that the market cap of Jio Financial Services has increased to close to Rs 2.2 lakh crore.

Today India has become the largest data market in the whole world. Jio’s share of global mobile traffic, which started in the year 2016, has increased to 8 percent. Jio’s data price is only one-fourth of the global average. Within just 8 years, Reliance Jio has become the world’s largest mobile data company. Today Jio has a total of 490 million subscribers. Mukesh Ambani explained that each Jio customer uses an average of 30 GB of data every month.

Not only this, there has been a huge increase in the number of home customers of Jio and it has increased to close to 30 million. Due to which Jio has become the world’s largest digital home service provider company. He said that with every recharge and bill payment, customers’ trust in Jio is increasing. Mukesh Ambani expressed gratitude towards all the customers of Jio.

Jio joins the list of the world’s most advanced 5 G networks. Within 2 years, more than 13 crore customers connected with Jio 5G. Not only that, in just 100 days, more than 1 million customers adopted Geo Air Fiber. He told that Jio has set a target of delivering air fiber to 1 million homes every month. Mukesh Ambani said that if Jio grows with this speed, they will soon reach 100 million homes with home broadband.
