Hamas Chief Ismail Haniya assassinated in Tehran
World| Hamas Chief Ismail Haniya was killed in Iran’s capital Tehran. A statement issued by the Public Relations Department of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that Hania and one of her bodyguards were murdered at their residence in Tehran. Ismail Haniya was the leader of the terrorist organization Hamas. He was on a visit to Iran for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Iranian President. Earlier in April, three sons of Hania were killed in an air strike. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that the attack targeted Haniya’s hideout in Tehran, killing the Hamas chief as well as a bodyguard. Hania had been living outside Palestine since 2019. It was on the instructions of Ismail Haniya that Hamas carried out a barbaric terrorist attack on Israel last year.
Let us tell you that, in April 2024, three sons of Hania were also killed by the Israeli army. Israel carried out an air strike on the Gaza Strip in which three of Hania’s sons were killed. The Israeli army had then said that Hania’s three sons Aamir, Hazem and Mohammad were going to carry out terrorist activities in Gaza, meanwhile all three were hit by air strikes. Haniya was elected head of Hamas’ Political Bureau on 6 May 2017. The U.S. State Department declared Hania a terrorist in 2018. Ismail Haniya was associated with Hamas since 1987. The Shura Council, the largest decision-making body in Hamas, re-elected him for 4 years in the year 2021. Being Hamas chief, Haniya was a staunch enemy of Israel. Earlier, Israel had killed top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukar in an air strike in Beirut.
