New Delhi| The upcoming festive season in India is estimated to generate 1 million additional employment opportunities. There will be an increase in the participation of gig and women employees in these. This information was given in a report. The report said the festive season could see a 35 percent increase in white and blue collar jobs.

The report released by NLB Services, a company providing technology and digital talent solutions, said that women’s participation in beauty and grooming, online tuition, home help, cab driving and food delivery is increasing in the gig economy. There is an increase in jobs in many industries like retail, hotel, e-commerce, logistics, consumer goods, banking, financial services, insurance and retail.

Of all these industries, e-commerce has the highest growth of 22 percent last year. NLB Services CEO Sachin Alug says that there is an increase in the demand for delivery drivers, customer services representatives, tech support experts and freelance engineers.

The report reported that the salary for all these positions is between Rs 12,000 and Rs 16,000 per month. It could increase by 10 to 20 per cent in the next three to four months. It was told in the report that there may be an increase in sales in the e-commerce sector during the festive season. Due to this, there will be an increase in the appointments of additional workforce permanently and temporarily.

Metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata may see a 15 percent increase in seasonal jobs this time compared to last year. Tier 2 cities like Nagpur, Jaipur, Vadodara, Kochi, Vizag, Madurai, Lucknow, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Indore, Coimbatore, Surat, Bhubaneswar and Bhopal may see a 20 to 25 percent increase in jobs.
