Biz Updates: Government to achieve more direct taxes than target; record 5 lakh people travel by air in one day
New Delhi| A record five lakh people have traveled by air in a day in the country amid the festival and wedding season. On Sunday, 5,05,412 passengers were carried by 3,173 aircraft. Seats on all aircraft were 90 per cent full. No company performed 100 percent of the time. IndiGo had 74 per cent performance.
The government will achieve direct taxes more than the target
The government will exceed the target of direct tax collection of Rs 22.07 lakh crore set for the current financial year. Central Board of Direct Taxes Chairman Ravi Aggarwal said, between April 1 and November 10, net direct tax collection has increased by 15.41 percent to Rs 12.11 lakh crore.
