‘Bhaskar’ platform launched to promote startups, aim to create the world’s largest digital registry
New Delhi| ‘Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry’ (Bhaskar) platform was launched on Monday to promote startups in the country. It will be a hub of collaboration and exchange of ideas among all key stakeholders including startups, investors, consultants, service providers and government bodies. Launching the Bhaskar Manch, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, it will become a single hub of connectivity for startups struggling to get advice and meet various needs like funding. There are currently over 1.46 lakh government recognized startups nationwide. In this way, India has emerged as the most dynamic startup hub in the world.
The primary goal of Bhaskar Manch is to create the world’s largest digital registry for stakeholders associated with the startup ecosystem. To achieve this goal, this platform will provide networking and collaboration. This will give centralized access to resources and will create personal identity. It will also increase search capacity and support India’s global brand.
Goyal said, it has been decided to create a non-profit entity under Section 8 of the Companies Act. In this, all the initiatives and bodies related to Startup India will be brought together. This company can be industry led like ‘Invest India’, which can manage its affairs.
The minister said, we will support it as a catalyst. It will have an independent board and organizational structure. It will be monitored. National Startup Advisory Council can also be a part of it. Goyal also suggested creating a township dedicated to entrepreneurs and startups. It aims to replicate the success of American Silicon Valley.
