BBAU Organizes Press Meet on Admission Process: Announces New Academic and Infrastructure Initiatives for Student Welfare
Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, organized a press meet on June 4 regarding the admission process for various academic programmes for the academic session 2026–27. The event was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. Apart from this, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. S. Victor Babu, Registrar Dr. Ashwini Kumar Singh, Chairman of the Admission Cell Committee Prof. Amit Kumar Singh, and Public Relations Officer Dr. Rachana Gangwar were present on the dais.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal stated that the University has consistently prioritized student welfare by providing quality, career-oriented, and holistic education. With this objective, the University is continuously expanding its skill-based and value-added courses to equip students with the knowledge and competencies required in a rapidly changing world. He informed that the construction of a modern Lecture Hall Complex is underway and is expected to be completed by September.
Speaking about the development of the Amethi Campus, Prof. Mittal stated that development works worth approximately ₹1 crore are being carried out. These include the expansion of information technology facilities, live lecture arrangements, construction of a modern auditorium, enhancement of hostel capacity especially for female students, establishment of a substation for uninterrupted 24×7 power supply, a modern computer laboratory equipped with around 60 computers, and installation of new water coolers for students. Discussing the overall and sustainable development of the Lucknow Campus, the Vice-Chancellor said that efforts are being made to transform the University into a Net-Zero Carbon Campus. Initiatives include biodiversity conservation, scientific recycling of paper and e-waste, commercial promotion of the herbal garden, and encouragement of entrepreneurship and startup culture through the University’s Navkalpana Section-8 Company. He further highlighted infrastructure expansion, establishment of a modern computer lab with around 200 computers, promotion of co-curricular and extracurricular activities through hobby clubs, strengthening of hostel facilities, and the development of various student-centric amenities. Prof. Mittal also outlined future plans, including the expansion of Open and Distance Learning programmes, promotion of NRI quota admissions in undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programmes, establishment of high-performance computing facilities, introduction of a PG Diploma in Artificial Intelligence, publication of high-quality research journals in both science and social sciences, and stronger collaboration with industries. He also expressed that these initiatives would further strengthen the University’s position as a center of academic excellence, innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and skill development.
Chairman of the Admission Cell Committee, Prof. Amit Kumar Singh, provided detailed information about the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes offered by the University, highlighting their relevance and fee structure. He also elaborated on CUET and Non-CUET based admissions, self-financed programmes, and skill-based courses. He noted that the University is continuously creating new opportunities to provide quality and employment-oriented education. He urged students and parents to complete the admission process within the prescribed timelines and follow the University’s official admission guidelines.
Admissions to various postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2026–27 are currently underway at BBAU. The University offers admission to 55 CUET-PG based programmes and 10 Non-CUET programmes. Applicants from different states across the country are actively applying for these programmes. The University has received a positive response from students and parents, reflecting growing interest and participation in the admission process.
A wide range of postgraduate programmes in Arts, Science, Management, Education, Law, Technology, and other disciplines are available. These include M.A., M.Sc., Integrated M.Sc., MBA, MCA, M.Ed., LL.M., and M.Tech., among several other programmes offered by various departments and faculties. These programmes are designed to provide quality education, research opportunities, practical skills, and enhanced career prospects aligned with contemporary global requirements.
The application process for CUET-PG based programmes commenced on May 14, 2026, and will continue until June 7, 2026. Candidates may submit their applications with a late fee until June 13, 2026 through the following portal: https://bbaucuet.samarth.edu.in/pg/ Similarly, the application process for Non-CUET programmes began on May 25, 2026, and will remain open until June 24, 2026. According to the admission notification issued by the University, the application fee has been structured to ensure accessibility and convenience for applicants. Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹500, while applicants from SC, ST, and PwD categories are required to pay ₹300. A late fee of ₹1,000 will be applicable for all categories after the prescribed deadline.
