Amarnath Yatra 2024: Amarnath Yatra begins from today

New Delhi| From today, the sacred yatra to Amarnath cave began. This yatra has been said to have very special significance in Sanatan Dharma. This pilgrimage place is considered the be among the most sacred. Every year, Shiva devotees participate in this yatra in large numbers. Despite bad weather, special enthusiasm is seen among the devotees. According to the officials, first batch of pilgrims has already reached the cave. At an altitude of 3978 meters above sea level, the Shivalinga of Lord Shiva is situated in the Amarnath cave. The sacred cave is 90 feet long and 150 feet high.

Every year the Amarnath Yatra starts from the month of ‘Ashadha’, which ends on Rakshabandhan. This year Amarnath Yatra has started from today and will end on 19th August.
