Zoho Corp: Joho CEO Sridhar Vembu steps down to focus on research

New Delhi| Sridhar Vembu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of global IT company Zoho Corporation, has resigned from his post as Chief Scientist to focus on the company’s research and development initiatives. Company co-founder Shailesh Kumar Davy will take over as the CEO of the group.

“Given the various challenges and opportunities we face, including recent major developments in artificial intelligence, it has been decided that I would do better to focus my entire time on R&D initiatives, as well as my personal I should also work on rural development missions.

“I will step down as CEO of Zoho Corp and assume the new role as chief scientist, responsible for intensive R&D initiatives”, Vembu said in a post on micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter). Although Vembu began his note with “A new chapter is starting today”, the exact timeline of this change was not made clear. He wrote that co-founders Tony Thomas Joho would lead US, Rajesh Ganesan would lead the ManageEngine division of Joho Corp, and Mani Vembu Joho.Com will lead the division.
