Yogi government will speed up ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’
Lucknow|Yogi government is continuously establishing new dimensions towards women empowerment. To make women empowered and self-reliant in the state, a new impetus is being given to ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’. Through these schemes, priority is being given to women’s health, nutrition and economic empowerment, which is opening new paths for social and economic change in the state.
To effectively implement the scheme, the process of recruitment of 7 personnel scheduled at the district level will be started across the state, which is targeted to be completed in the next one month.
By strongly implementing schemes like ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’, the state government is moving towards bringing positive change in the lives of women.
Adopting the new guidelines issued by the Government of India in 2022 regarding ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’, the Yogi government has ensured the operation of service centers in all the districts. Health, education and employment information is being made available to women through these centres.
Yogi government has further strengthened the process of giving information to women about state and national level schemes, making them aware of their rights and providing them the benefits of government schemes through ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women. ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’ personnel are being given training on important topics such as skill development, gender equality and prevention of domestic violence.
‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’ scheme to recruit 7 personnel scheduled at district level. Yogi government has adopted outsourcing process in the appointment of ‘Hub for Empowerment of Women’ and PMMVY personnel to ensure transparency in the implementation of the schemes. In the recruitment of these personnel, priority will be given to the personnel who have worked under the previous Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana as per their qualifications and eligibility. This process will be completed through GeM portal, so that any irregularities in appointments can be prevented. Along with this, honorarium will be paid to the employees for their work at the district level.
‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’ (PMMVY) was operated in the state from 2017 to 2024 in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Since March 2024, the scheme is being operated by the Department of Child Development Services and Nutrition. The objective of this scheme is to take care of the nutrition and health of pregnant women and lactating mothers by providing them financial assistance.
Through PMMVY, an assistance amount of Rs 5,000 is given to women in three installments. Lakhs of women have benefited from this scheme, which has helped in meeting their nutritional needs. Yogi government has taken special care of transparency and efficiency in implementing this scheme, so that its benefits reach every beneficiary.
