Air India spokesperson said that the teams of Vistara and Air India have been working to ease the merger process for the last one year. After the merger, Vistara’s aircraft, crew and services will remain the same as before, but flight numbers will be AI2 etc. In parallel, Air India’s narrow fleet is being upgraded with the supply of new aircraft, the old aircraft are being refined with a completely new interior and Vistara’s catering system has now expanded to Air India as well.

An Air India spokesperson said, we look forward to taking advantage of the glorious legacies and best practices of both the airlines as we form a new airline group of which India can be proud.
