Varanasi’s ancient, traditional handicrafts as well as modern products will be showcased at the UP International Trade Show

Lucknow| Kashi, which is proud to be older than history, is known for its spirituality, religion, tradition and culture, but Kashi is also known for its traditional handicraft products all over the world. Kashi’s ancient, traditional handicrafts and modern products are ready to be showcased at the UP International Trade Show to be held in Greater Noida. Buyers from all over the world will see the skill products of the traditional artisans of Varanasi at the UP International Trade Show, which is going to be held from 25th to 29th September at India Expo Center and Mart, Greater Noida. This will provide international market to handicraftsmen and other products. One District One Product from Varanasi, 29 entrepreneurs from micro, small and medium industries including exporters have registered to take their product from local to global market. Registration is likely to increase further.
The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is ensuring a way to increase access to the skills of traditional handicraftsmen of Kashi in the local as well as global markets. One District One Product is going to provide an international platform for GI products and other entrepreneurs. Varanasi products are ready to take off in the UP International Trade Show to be held in Greater Noida. According to information received from the District Industries Centre, 15 handicrafts of One District One Product, 6 of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (which are associated with wooden toys, pink enamel, and silk industry) and 8 exporters of Banarasi silk are participating in the UP International Trade Show. Entrepreneurs associated with saree and carpet industry are participating. So far, a total of 29 entrepreneurs have registered with the Department of Industry. A special stall is being set up for women entrepreneurs in the UP International Trade Show.
Virender Aggarwal, director of Kamalya Textile and Panaya brand, said that ODOP and GI products will showcase Banarasi saree at the international trade show. So that the whole world can see the heritage of Banaras. Centuries ago, sarees worn in royal families like Kashi, Udaipur, Jaipur etc. are being revived and made especially for UP International Trade. He said that Yogi government has a very good initiative to provide international platform to Banarasi products. Bhavna Verma, Director of Young Entrepreneur Shriji Mentha, says that with this initiative of Yogi government, entrepreneurs like us are getting an international platform. Javed of Traditional Art Center said that after hearing about the success of last year’s UP International Trade Show, this time he is participating in it. Such events should be held continuously.
