UP: August salaries of 2.44 lakh state employees of the state on hold

Lucknow| August salaries of 2.44 lakh state personnel who did not provide details of their assets in the country have been frozen. The Chief Secretary had given instructions to provide details of movable and immovable property on the Manav Sampada portal by 31 August. By the due date, only 71 per cent of State Government personnel disclosed their assets. The Chief Secretary had given instructions to all personnel to disclose their assets through a mandate on 17 August. Also, all the departments were ordered to pay salaries for the month of August only to those who gave details of assets by 31st August. There are total 846640 state personnel in the state. Of these, only 602075 gave details of movable and immovable property on the Manav Sampada portal. Personnel from textile, military welfare, energy, sports, agriculture and women welfare departments were at the forefront in giving details of assets. Whereas, the personnel of the education department are ahead in hiding their assets. In this respect, the most lagging departments proved to be Basic Education, Higher Education, Medical Health, Industrial Development and Revenue.
When this order was issued on 17th August, only 131748 i.e. 15 percent of the state personnel had registered their assets on the portal. Between 20-31 August, it increased to 71 per cent. A high-ranking government official said that an order has already been given to stop the salaries of employees who do not provide property details. All departments will have to ensure its compliance. DGP Headquarters has sent a letter to the Appointment Department requesting them to grant more time to their personnel to give details of assets. It has been said in the letter that due to festivals and police recruitment examination, many police personnel could not give details of their assets on time. It is believed that this date can be extended for the Home Department. According to highly placed sources of the government, the officers and employees whose salaries for the month of August have been stopped will be released only after they give the details of the property. After getting the details of their assets, the concerned departments will be able to take the decision on paying salaries after talks with the government.
