Prayagraj| The government is continuously working to make Mahakumbh 2025 accessible to all. More than 40 crore people are estimated to come to Prayagraj during this mega event. In this regard, both the fair administration and the district administration have made preparations for crowd management.

An action plan has been prepared to ensure that there is no chaos due to excessive crowding, especially during peak days (major bathing). Separate commuting routes have been set, while arrangements have also been made to ensure that mobility continues. Special arrangements are also being made to ensure that the road is not blocked. According to the overall plan, devotees should get one to 5 km in peak days. And one km on normal days.

Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said that in this biggest religious event, a large group of devotees not only from the state and the country but from all over the world is going to reach Prayagraj. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that no devotee should face any kind of inconvenience. In such a situation, an action plan has been made regarding crowd management, arrangements will be ensured accordingly.

He told that during Mahakumbh, most of the devotees will reach Prayagraj by road. The administration has made arrangements for parking in all directions of the city, where devotees will park their vehicles and decide the way forward. We have set different routes of arrival and departure in the fair area. Those who take the dip of faith will not return by the path they go. They will have to go through another route, so that devotees cannot come face to face anywhere.

Divisional Commissioner said that such arrangements are being made that the devotees do not stay together, they should keep walking. No traffic jam will be allowed anywhere. Our objective is to maintain the mobility of the devotees in the fair area as well as in the city, so that after taking bath and darshan etc., they directly reach the parking lot and proceed towards their destination. Similarly, Railways has also been requested to operate more special trains on time, so that devotees can continue the journey without wasting their time. Positive response has also been received from Railways and they have announced to operate many additional special trains.

He said that if the devotees want to rest for some time, some holding areas have also been identified for them. With the beginning of Mahakumbh, devotees will start arriving in Prayagraj. The number of devotees during major bathing days will be several crores. It is estimated that on Mauni Amavasya, maximum 4 to 5 crore devotees can come to take a holy dip. Preparations have also been made for this.

Vijay Vishwas Pant said that Mauni Amavasya is likely to be the densest day. In this too, the time from 3 am to 12 noon will be very critical, when heavy load of devotees will approach the Sangam. They will start returning after 12 o’clock. Our effort is to provide them easy access to the Sangam area and then back to the parking lot. After taking the holy dip in the Sangam, arrangements will be made to send them back immediately, so that traffic jams do not arise. After taking them to the parking lot, they will be sent towards the destination. Our various traffic schemes are ready, due to which neither the devotees will have to face chaos nor there will be a situation of traffic panic in the fair and the city area.

Divisional Commissioner said that various efforts are being made to fulfill the Chief Minister’s resolve to make this Mahakumbh a clean Kumbh. Our effort is that no plastic will be used in the entire fair area. Their replacement options are being considered. Especially bio friendly bags of Indore will be used. We are also going to communicate with traders regarding this. Also, people and officials are being encouraged to use different types of bags instead of plastic.
