Ration Card: Government claims, ‘Verification of 1.5 crore workers completed in 75 districts of UP’

Lucknow|In Uttar Pradesh, the work of verification for making ration cards of workers is going on at a fast pace. The process of verification is progressing at a fast pace to provide ration cards to the workers registered on the e-Shram portal in the entire state.

The government has claimed that the total number of workers is 1.58 crore, with 1.49 crore workers having been verified. According to recent data from the Food and Logistics Department, a total of 8.31 crore workers have been registered. In this, 6.73 crore registered workers are already taking advantage of government ration.

Department officials reported that the total number of workers for verification is 1.58 crore, of which 1.49 crore workers have been verified. Of the 26.47 lakh workers found eligible, 2.37 lakh are receiving ration benefits. At the same time, 122.92 lakh workers have been found ineligible in the verification.

Yogi government has taken many important steps to ease the process of verification of workers. Under this, a village level verification team is being formed and the eligibility is being checked. In this, workers have been exempted from the requirement of bank passbook in income certificate and mandatory records. Only the report of the verification team will be valid as income certificate of the workers.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, District Magistrates of all the districts have started the process of issuing ration cards after verifying the eligible workers as soon as possible. In this sequence, after verifying the currently prevalent ration cards, the ration cards of ineligible families are being cancelled and in their place the process of issuing ration cards to eligible labor families is being completed at a fast pace.

According to the data of e-Shram portal, the speed of verification is highest in Chitrakoot, Amethi, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ballia and Azamgarh of the state. Out of 1374 eligible workers in Chitrakoot, 498 workers are getting the benefit of ration. In Amethi, 2,922 out of 8,919 eligible workers, 530 out of 1757 eligible workers in Gautam Buddha Nagar, 10623 out of 42569 eligible workers in Ballia and 5611 out of 22600 eligible workers in Azamgarh are getting the benefit of ration.
