PM to meet economists and experts to seek views on the budget

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet eminent economists and experts from a particular field to know their views on the budget and will know their views and suggestions for the upcoming budget. A senior government official gave this information on Monday. Apart from economists and regional experts, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry and other members of NITI Aayog will also participate in the meeting.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the 2025-26 budget in the Lok Sabha on February 1, 2025. Stock markets will remain open for trading on that day. BSE and NSE announced this on Monday. Stock markets are usually closed on Saturdays and Sundays, except in special circumstances. Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the financial year 2025-26 on February 1.

In the past too, the market has traded on holidays on important occasions like budgets. Markets were open on 1 February 2020 and 28 February 2015, which were both Saturdays, and the Union Budget was presented on that day. In the year 2001, the budget submission time was changed from 5 pm to 11 am, after which the stock markets have always opened at their normal times.
