PM Modi in Singapore: Four important agreements between India and Singapore, will increase cooperation in the field of digital technology-semiconductor

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on Singapore tour. On the second day of his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Parliament of Singapore, where he was formally welcomed. Later a representative level meeting was held between PM Modi and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. In this meeting, four important agreements were signed between the two countries. These agreements will further strengthen relations between the two countries. India has agreed to increase cooperation in the fields of digital technology, semiconductor, health and skill development in Singapore.

Under the first agreement signed between India and Singapore, the Ministry of Electronics and Information of the Government of India and the Ministry of Digital Development of Singapore will jointly cooperate in the field of digital technology. This led to an agreement between the two countries to cooperate in areas such as digital technology such as DPI, cybersecurity, 5 G, emerging technology such as super computing, quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

An agreement has also been signed between the two countries to enhance the skills of workers and improve the skills of people working in the digital domain. Besides, both the countries will also increase cooperation in the field of education and entrepreneurship. India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has also signed an agreement with Singapore to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem. Under this, semiconductor clusters will be created in the country and people will be trained in semiconductor design and production.

An agreement has been signed between India and Singapore in the health sector. Under this, both the countries will promote research and innovation in the health sector. Besides, cooperation will also be increased in human resources and pharmaceutical sector in the health sector. Under this agreement, opportunities for Indian health experts to work in Singapore are expected to increase. Prime Minister Modi reached Singapore on Wednesday and today is his last day of the two-day visit.

During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Singapore, the two countries have also agreed on cooperation in the cultural sector. Under this, Thiruvalluvar Cultural Center will be established in Singapore. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave this information by sharing a post on social media. In this post, the Finance Minister wrote that ‘Thank you to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Tamil language, civilization and Tamil culture in Singapore.’
