Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits under the Rozgar Mela initiative and said the youth would become responsible partners in the country’s development journey.

Addressing the appointees, the Prime Minister congratulated the newly recruited candidates and said they were entering public service at an important phase in India’s growth trajectory.

“Today, more than 51,000 youth have received appointment letters for government jobs. Today, all of you are becoming important partners, responsible partners, in the country’s development journey,” PM Modi said.

He said the recruits would take up responsibilities across several crucial sectors, including railways, banking, defence, healthcare and education.

“You are all going to assume new responsibilities in railways, banking, defence, health, education, and many other sectors. You will all play a crucial role in fulfilling the resolve for a developed India in the coming years,” he added.

The Rozgar Mela initiative is part of the government’s employment generation drive aimed at strengthening public service delivery by recruiting youth into various ministries, departments and state administrations.

The programme primarily targets young people in the 18-35 age group and includes candidates with qualifications ranging from Class 8, 10 and 12 education to ITI certifications, diploma holders and graduates. Candidates certified under the National Skills Qualifications Framework are also included.

According to officials, awareness about the Rozgar Mela is spread through multiple channels, including print advertisements, bulk SMS campaigns, social media outreach and workshops organised at colleges and universities near the event locations.
