More than 36.80 crore plantations between 20 July and 30 September in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow| The Uttar Pradesh government claimed that the state created history by planting 36.51 crore saplings in one day (July 20) under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has now gone even further. More than 36.80 crore saplings were planted in Madhya Uttar Pradesh between 20 July and 30 September. The Department of Rural Development continues to be at the top with 13.53 plantations. Whereas, 12.92 crore saplings have been planted by the Forest Department.

Sonbhadra is at the top among the districts. More than one crore 55 lakh saplings have been planted here. Not only this, on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is also on top in the ‘Ek Pree Maa Ke Naam’ campaign under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

According to the information received from the department, Chief Minister Yogi had launched ‘Plant trees, save trees Jan Abhiyan-2024’ by planting saplings from Lucknow on 20th July. On the same day, Chief Minister Yogi had also given impetus to the campaign by planting saplings in Gorakhpur and Prayagraj. On 20 July, the target was to plant 36.50 crore saplings. But, 36,51,45,477 crore saplings were planted on that day, which remained 1,45,477 more than the government’s target.

Under the direction of CM Yogi, this campaign continued continuously from 20th July. The result of everyone’s joint effort was that between 20 July and 30 September, this figure went beyond 36.51 crore to 36.80 crore plantations. This success was achieved with the joint efforts of all the departments under the leadership of Forest, Wildlife and Environment Department.

It said that under the campaign, maximum plantation was done in Sonbhadra. On 20 July, 1.53 crore saplings were planted in Sonbhadra. By 30 September, 1.55 crore saplings were planted here. On July 20, 97 lakh saplings were planted in Jhansi, which has now increased to 98.70 lakh. In Lakhimpur Kheri, the figure has increased from 95 lakh to 96.18 lakh as of 30 September. Jalaun was planted with 9.4 million saplings on 20 July. As of 30 September, 95.22 lakh saplings were planted here. In Mirzapur, 94.06 lakh saplings were planted from 93 lakh till 30 September.

Maximum number of saplings have been planted by the Rural Development Department. As of 30 September the department planted 13,54,62,142 saplings. At the same time, the Forest Department played a special role in increasing the greenery of Uttar Pradesh by planting 12,92,66,486 saplings during this period. The Department of Agriculture planted 2,89,46,222 crore saplings. More than 1 crore 61 lakh saplings were planted by the Horticulture Department and 1 crore 18 lakh saplings were planted by the Panchayati Raj Department.
